Marie From Brighton’s Tits

Just been looking on Google News. For goodness sake the top news trends are a source of great depression and head shaking for any right thinking individual. They are as listed below

Scissor Sisters
Rafael Nadal
Olympic Flame
East Timor
West Ham
Northern Rock
Giro
Peter Hain
Paul Greengrass
Danny O’Donoghue

The Scissor Sisters are trending because they have released or shortly to release another record, album, LP or CD or for most of the great wide unwashed it will soon be available on Bit Torrent or Audio Galaxy or whatever. Having heard just the one “song” from the album when I passed through our lounge whilst Mrs Denbow was watching the truly vile “The Voice,” I am of the opinion that jumping up and down whilst wearing a hideous jacket does not an artist make. The bird was pretty though but seemed rather superfluous musically as she was inaudible, but nice eye candy.

Rafael Nadal it seems, has been bashing a tennis ball around and generally looking both moody and sulky. This is something that be achieved by most adolescent boys – so we’ll move on.

Olympic Flame – well this is a Godsend to BBC News 24. Endless coverage of a windswept and deserted stadium in Greece. This has been followed by close ups of Davy lamps having their seatbelts fitted in preparation for the flight to the UK. The bleedin’ torch has hardly set off yet but it has already got more than a little on my nerves. It will be passing but a short distance from my home, but as yet due to the ennui of the of the TVcoverage I am unsure whether I will watch its’ passing.

East Timor – well, being essentially shallow and insular I don’t care – so we’ll move on.

West Ham is trending because of a soccer match against against the giants of the North West soccer, Blackpool. As the prize for winning this game is a place in the Premier League then this game is deemed really important. *Yawn* Really, if big news is something as tedious as this then WTF is the world coming to? Some chap with a headset and a terminal chewing gum habit (was it really called “spug” in the Black Country?) is worthy of television interviews and extensive coverage? Err no!

Northern Rock? Is this the sort of confectionery that is vended in Blackpool? I wish! The stories are about how we, the taxpayer, will be left with a bill of £2 billion quid due the greedy ineptitude of the people in change. I tried to work out how much this would cost each individual in this country, but being thick I failed. One thing I do know is that it’s a lot. Too sodding much. I mean British taxpayers are expected to take a loss of £480 million ($762 million) on the sale of Northern Rock Plc. Again WTF?

Giro – no this is not about the fortnightly cheque that spongers get, but rather a bike race in Italy. Yeah right, dead important and really, really interesting. (Detect any sarcasm there?)

Peter Hain – don’t like him. Opportunistic hypocrite in my opinion. Not writing about him.

Paul Greengrass – I think it’s Claude from Hearbeat’s son. So why is he newsworthy?

Danny O’Donoghue – All I have to say about this jerk is what is his point? What is he? What use does a Danny O’Donoghue have? Bookend? Market trader? Shit shoveller? You decide.

So having looked at the top 10 stories on Google news I am beginning to wonder if the real truth and the real news is being kept from us and this sort of crap is being fed to us to keep us entertained and docile. Is the news that is being drip fed to us, the wider population, truly the new “Opium des Volkes?” Do we ever get to see or hear the truth in the press, on the internet or on television?

Is the standard of education, intelligence and attention span of the average UK citizen so bereft of the levels required to digest any more than the size of “Marie From Brighton’s” tits that crap TV, crap news, crap everything is everywhere you look? Back in 1977 the Sex Pistols released “God Save The Queen” at the time of the Jubilee and some 35 years on it seems more relevant now than it dead back then. Ridiculous tuition fees for students. A fractured and fractious country. Riots on the streets. It just seems that what goes around comes around.

You gotta go there to come back

God save the queen
We mean it man
And there is no future
In England’s dreaming
No future, no future,
No future for you
No future, no future,
No future for me
No future, no future,
No future for you
No future, no future
For you

Ciao For Now
